The ITIL is the Information Technology Infrastructure Library. This is framework that serves as an informational technology management for development and operations. It gives specific descriptions of IT practices with lists of procedures and tasks for any Information Technology group. This is published in a book series with the name ITIL and IT Infrastructure Library being trademarked by the OGC or Office of Government Commerce of the United Kingdom. ITIL training encompasses a certification that individuals can possess.
The collection of books give the specific practices and duties of service management of IT groups. There are many volumes starting with the 1989-1996 version 1 set, the 2000-2001 edition labeled version 2, and the 2007 version 3. The first printing contained over thirty volumes. The updated second version consolidated it into eight logical sets. In 2007, the OGC or Office of Government Commerce refreshed the information by grouping it under just five volumes.
Certification for this are in three levels. The first level was primarily focused on service support. Level two offered three certification levels: foundation, practitioner, and manager. Level three is the most recent certification and are foundation, intermediate, expert, and master. By using the third version, each qualification is given a credit value.
Candidates are given a certification and 2 credits for the lowest level of foundation. The intermediate level is reached when a total of fifteen credits are earned. This is done through a continuous stream from the Lifecycle module or Capability module. When a candidate completes a lifecycle module and exam successfully, then he or she acquires three credits.
A Capability module and corresponding exam can earn a candidate 4 credits, but a candidate that wants to achieve the expert level will have to meet all 22 credits along with other mentioned requirements. Building the different levels ends with higher certification.
The foundation level is primarily aimed towards people that want to have a basic understanding of the ITIL framework. These candidates also desire the understanding of how to enhance the informational technology of service management. Any individual who is open to learning about the subject has the opportunity to earn the foundation certification. There are candidates that may chose to learn from service lifecycle and service capability modules during the functional level.
The intermediate module is the next step for candidates that are interested in trying to ultimately achieve the expert level. The expert level is for candidates with the idea that they would like to become knowledgeable in the entire scheme of the information technology infrastructure library. This level will help improve career opportunities for candidates wanting to advance in the informational technology field.
The highest level of certification is the master qualification. This demonstrates the candidates' abilities to apply methods, principles, and techniques in the workplace. The ability to explain knowledge in the practicality of the business arena. In order to reach the master, one should have reached the ITIL Expert Level and have worked in IT service management realm for at least five years. This work experience needs to be in a supervisory or leadership position.

ITIL Training Advice and Certification Level Basics

ITIL training is for those who plan to take one of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library certification exams. There are four levels of qualifications in the current v3 scheme. The scheme takes a modular approach so the four levels have to be attempted in serial order.
It starts from the Foundation exam, and moves up through Intermediate and Expert to Master. When a candidate passes one exam, it means the candidate gets the equivalent certification and also a specified number of credits (and a metal pin that can be worn on shirts or jackets). The credits add up as the candidate passes subsequent levels.
Before getting to the individual levels and the way to get certified, let's take a brief look at ITIL and the benefits it can provide to an organization that adopts it. The simplest way to put it is that it provides a framework for IT service management. These best practices can be found in a series of five books which examine the entire service lifecycle.
The books can be considered as guiding principles that will help an organization identify their IT needs, and then design and implement the setup and monitor it. Adopting this framework will improve the quality of IT services. It will reduce costs and improve productivity and customer satisfaction.
It has been adopted by thousands of organizations worldwide. There is a solid network of examination institutes (EI) and accredited training organizations (ATO) to support companies and individuals with their ITIL training and implementation needs. It's important here to make a distinction between the EIs and ATOs, because it will help with the provider choice.
The former are the ones who are actually permitted to operate the examination schemes indirectly through the ATOs. In other words, what an EI does is provide accreditation to an ATO. This accredited ATO will then be authorized to provide ITIL training.
The APM Group, which is officially in charge of all this, lists every EI and ATO on its website. So anyone thinking about becoming a certified IT service management guru needs to cross-check this list of authorized providers and find one that will be convenient. Each ATO will have its own system for delivering the requisite lectures and hands-on exercises needed.
But considering these sessions are meant for groups of employees, many ATOs deliver the ITIL training onsite to minimize disruption to business and the employees' schedules. For example, the v3 foundation certification could be a 3-day classroom course delivered to groups of employees in a company's meeting room. Candidates would have to take the exam at the end of the course, and answer 40 multiple choice questions in 60 minutes.
The other levels (intermediate, expert & master) won't be as easy and will need more course work and preparation. The ITIL training and exams don't come cheap, so a company that wants to get its employees certified for IT service management should choose the candidates carefully. But if done right, the streamlined IT setup will benefit the company in many different ways.

Buy IPad, Or Not To Buy An IPad That Is The Question

It seems that every time Steve Jobs and the people at Apple make any device it's a winner and from all initial indications the iPad is no exception. So should you buy the iPad well I believe the resounding answer is yes, and here are some points to back up my answer.
Firstly ask yourself what type of product is so good that within a few months of its release , knocked Microsoft off its seemingly indestructible pedestal as the number-one technology firm in the world. Well ladies and gentlemen that product is the iPad.
If this is not enough to convince you to buy the iPad and the fact that you're reading this I am guessing that you are not a loyal Apple junkie that will purchase anything with an Apple badge on it I suggest you continue reading.
Here are some questions that if you answer yes to ,you should buy an iPad. Do you like movies? Do you like music? Do you like books? Do you like games? Do you like to surf the web? Do you keep digital photos and show them to people? Do you use a laptop or a computer ?
Well I guess from the questions asked above there are very few people that do not need to buy an iPad you may you may say “I have other tools that allow me to enjoy any one of the things that you asked above.”
My answer to this is again in the form of a question ” how many different items would you need to properly enjoy all the activities mentioned above?” And “how much would they weigh altogether?” would it be more than one pound?, because yes that is how much the iPad weighs approximately one pound.
The ipad performs all the functions of an iPhone , iPod ,laptop ,Kindle reader even a PlayStation portable and unlike most multifunction devices it doesn't perform these tasks by sacrificing performance in fact it matches and in some cases exceeds the performance of any one of these individual devices.
On top of all that to buy an iPad which could do all this will not cost you an arm and a leg in fact the price is extremely affordable for what you would be getting.
So to recap the iPad weighs one pound, has a high-resolution screen that you can watch videos ,listen to music , play games ,use any one of the thousands of iPhone applications that are available out there and much more. How could you ask for anything more without being just too greedy?
So the question again “to buy iPad or not to buy an iPad” the answer is a resounding yes, go now and buy an iPad you will love what it can do.

Canon Vixia HF S100 Camcorder Review

My camcorder became outdated, so I finally decided to check out the one that I had heard so much about. I looked on the internet and did some other research to make sure that I had found the best one. Experience dictates that it is always best to arm yourself with information before you hear a sales pitch at the store. The review that I found on the VIXIA HF S100 was very helpful. However, being the cynic that I am, I had to see for myself.
Needless to say, I was blown away by the quality of the Canon Vixia HF S100. I sampled other camcorders, but it is far superior to all of them. The thing that I liked most is that it is a very powerful camcorder, has advanced features and can also be used as a camera. Now I don't have to carry a camera and a camcorder with me. I have everything I need in one piece of equipment.
The camcorder takes very crisp movies in HD that can be recorded directly onto an SDHC card. This feature makes the camcorder very versatile and easy to use. All the functions can be controlled through the LCD menu. What's even better is that you can be technologically challenged and still take movies like a pro. There are many automatic settings that allow you to take great movies without having any prior experience working a camcorder.
The VIXIA HF S100 review that I read, though favorable, did not do the camcorder justice. The camcorder has a 10x optical zoom with stabilizer for clear crisp images. A bonus for me is that there are several superb cinematography settings that let you take professional quality movies. In addition, the camcorder also takes perfect photos with brilliant colors using the Canon 8.59 megapixel CMOS image sensor along with the latest image processor available.
The camera packs all the latest features into a compact and lightweight camcorder. If you've used bulky camcorders in the past you'll love the ease with which you can take movies using this Canon camera. Because it combines movies and photos you only need to bring this versatile camera wherever you go.
The cons for me was the recording time. A call to the customer service department resolved this issue rather quickly. I explained to them that I was using the 2GB memory card and was limited to 45 minutes of record time. The call center explained that I could use a 32GB memory card and get up to 12 hours of record time. There is also a 4GB and an 8 GB memory card.
With all the great features the VIXIA HF S100 camcorder is certainly one of the top choices. It offers a full range of highly advanced features making it a state-of-the-art camcorder and camera. All the features are easy to use with the high quality LCD menu. Best of all you can record movies right onto an SDHC card for easy transfer to your computer. This camcorder has exceeded my expectations.

One of their best shredders for use at work is the GBC ShredMaster GDX1813. This is a great machine for an office in which up to 10 people will be using it on a daily basis. * The GDX1813 is a cross-cut shredder with a Level 3 security rating. The shreds it produces measure 1/16" x 1-1/9". It's perfect for destroying credit card receipts, correspondence, and any other documents you want to keep out of the hands of identity thieves.
* This machine can shred non-paper items such as CD's/DVD's and credit cards so you'll be able to protect your private data no matter what format it's in. You can also leave staples and paper clips in your documents because the GDX1813 can tear them up.
* Most cross-cut shredders have rather low shredding capacities, but that's not the case with this device. It can shred up to 18 sheets of paper per pass which is a phenomenal amount for a machine such as this.

* This is a fairly large machine. It has dimensions of 26.6" (height) x 18.9" (width) x 14.6" (depth). It's also heavy, weighing about 75 pounds. Luckily there are casters on the bottom of it so moving it around will be a bit easier.
* Despite all of its great features, the GDX1813 is very reasonably priced. It will cost you less than $900.00 which is a great deal for a machine of this caliber. It also comes with a terrific warranty: the cutting mechanism is covered for 20 years while the entire machine has two years' worth of coverage. You won't find a better warranty than that.
The verdict:
The GBC ShredMaster GDX is a really terrific paper shredder. It has an incredible shredding capacity and the fact that it can shred a variety of non-paper items really makes it special. Plus, it has a very large waste bin, an automatic shut-off feature, and anti-jam technology that makes it especially user-friendly. Basically, you won't find a better paper shredder than this one, so get it for your office today. You won't regret it.
